Pastor Mario was invited to join the staff at Lighthouse in 2008 commencing as an Associate Pastor in November of the same year. As part of his responsibility’s as an associate pastor he is the principal of Australian Baptist College.
After arriving in Australia from Argentina as an immigrant with his immediate family in 1972 Pastor Mario joined the Australian Army in 1980. Soon after the completion of his initial training he was posted to Canberra where he was invited to attend an Independent Baptist church for the first time. After hearing the plan of salvation clearly for the first time and been visited by a member of the church he received Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour in 1982. He soon began studies which lead him to attend Emmanuel Baptist College of Christian Education and complete his four year degree. In 1984 he met his wife Alison and were soon married.
Pastor Mario was called into the ministry in 1986 and began preparations to plant a church in Australia. Leaving the Army in 1991 and settling in Sydney God lead him and his family to be sent from Metropolitan Baptist Church to start a church in Hervey Bay, Queensland. After fifteen years there and four wonderful boys the family moved to Rockhampton.
Pastor Mario and his wife Alison have four children – Joshua, Jonathan, Matthew and Samuel. His family also includes a daughter in law Elise married to his oldest son Joshua and another daughter in law Juliana married to Matthew. He also has three granddaughters: two from Joshua and Elise – Mila and Aria and also another from Matthew and Juliana – Londyn.
